Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balendra Shah, who returned from Nuwakot after inspecting the affected areas, said that the government’s first priority is to save the lives of the people, search for the disappeared, treatment of the injured and rehabilitate the infrastructure. <\/p>\n
He said adequate security personnel and rescue teams have been mobilized for the search and rescue of the disappeared people, adding that the government was carrying out works in the disaster-hit areas with priority. <\/p>\n
A total of 13,295 security personnel, including 4,200 from the Nepal Army, 7,250 from the Nepal Police and 1,845 from the Armed Police Force, have been deployed for the search and rescue of the missing. A total of 573 people have been rescued through 69 flights. Priority has been given to the sick, pregnant women, children, senior citizens and people with disabilities in the air rescue. Temporary accommodation has been arranged in schools and community buildings for about 3,500 affected people. <\/p>\n
Rs 10 million has been mobilized in Rasuwa, Rs 10 million in Nuwakot and Rs 5 million in Dhading for financial assistance and food items. Nepal Red Cross has mobilized 10 truckloads of relief materials and various voluntary organizations to support 30,000 people. <\/p>\n
Free treatment has been ensured to the affected and injured. The Health Emergency Operation Center has been activated by preparing 100 emergency beds at Bir Hospital and Trauma Center and 60 at Patan Hospital. Field Hospital Set has been sent to Trishuli. <\/p>\n
A technical team has been sent to restore the 70 telecom towers that have been blocked. Nepal Telecom and Ncell have provided free voice, data and SMS services in the affected areas. An additional 30,000 liters of diesel and petrol and 17,000 liters of aviation fuel have been arranged in the affected areas. <\/p>\n
Prime Minister Balendra Shah posted in his Facebook page that the authorities concerned have been directed to repair and repair roads, bridges, drinking water and electricity facilities in a speedy manner. <\/p>\n
The government has announced financial assistance to the families of the deceased as per the prevailing law. Also, cooperation and coordination is being done with international partners including India, the US, BHG, DHJ, and Chhattisgarh.
