Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has issued an interim order not to immediately appoint the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Himalayan Life Insurance. <\/p>\n
The company had issued a notice on August 3 inviting applications for the appointment of CEO. However, the suspended CEO of the company, Kapil Kumar Dahal, had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court seeking to stop the process of appointing the CEO of the company. A single bench of Justice Tek Prasad Dhungana issued the interim order after hearing the writ petition. <\/p>\n
The apex court has issued the final order to stop the process for the time being as serious legal questions are in the writ petition regarding whether Dahal, who has been suspended on his own and is on the date he was on the date after submitting bail on August 5, and whether or not the process related to filling up the post can be carried out considering the vacancy without taking a decision to relieve Dahal from the post by following the legal process. <\/p>\n
Dahal was appointed as the CEO of Himalayan Life Insurance Company on October 29, 2082 for a period of four years. Dahal was remanded in custody on August 5 in connection with a case related to violation of the Insurance Act at the Kathmandu District Court. Dahal was automatically suspended after the case was filed. <\/p>\n
