Kathmandu. Now, in the health insurance program, new affiliation and renewal can be done online from home. <\/p>\n
The Health Insurance Board (HIB) has launched the online affiliation and renewal system through the HIB e-portal. This system has been implemented by the Insurance Board as per the ‘Work Procedure on Affiliation to Health Insurance and Insurance Policy Renewal, 2083 BS’. <\/p>\n
This system has also been interlinked with the national identity card. Family members who do not have national identity card can submit digital details manually. <\/p>\n
For the renewal of the association, one can easily pay health insurance premium through e-sewa, Khalti and connect IPS. Through this system, an individual or a registered assistant can digitally subscribe to the health insurance scheme and renew the policy. <\/p>\n
According to the Insurance Board, the families who have already insured the health insurance in the past can also update and renew the KYC by connecting to this system through the health insurance number of the head of the family. In addition to this, arrangements have been made for bulk enrollment and bulk renewal from the office or organized sector, certification and approval from the district and state level and digital health insurance card will be issued after the approval. <\/p>\n
According to the Insurance Board, the implementation of the digital system is expected to further simplify the enrollment and renewal process in health insurance, saving time of the subscribers and increase service delivery transparency.
