Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Special Court (SC) has remanded three defendants including Raj Bahadur Shah, proprietor of Himalayan Distillery, on bail in a money laundering case. <\/p>\n
A bench of the Special Court on Friday ordered the release of Raj Bahadur Shah on bail of Rs 15 million, Shishir Gaire Rs 2 million and Surendra Thapa on bail of Rs 1 million. <\/p>\n
In the charge sheet filed against them, they were accused of using corporate money for personal interest to influence the share price, concealing the true source of the money and managing the proceeds of crime under the cover of share trading. <\/p>\n
According to the chargesheet, Raj Bahadur Shah, the board members and other accused had influenced the sale and purchase of shares of Himalayan Reinsurance. The court has stated in the order that the situation as per clause (d) of Section 7 of the Special Court Act, 2059 was found on the basis of the evidence received immediately. <\/p>\n
Shishir Gaire, who was the executive director of Himalayan Reinsurance, has been accused of buying and selling shares of Himalayan Reinsurance Company through brokers during his tenure. <\/p>\n
Former chief executive officer of Nepal Insurance Company Surendra Thapa has been accused of misusing public funds to benefit from share trading and influencing the price of shares.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
