Kathmandu. Jeevan Bikas Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha has received the Entrepreneurship Development Award. Jeevan Bikash has been awarded the Entrepreneurship Development Award with a purse of Rs 200,000 by the Self-reliant Development Centre. <\/p>\n
The Self-Reliant Development Centre has been presenting this award to the organizations doing excellent work in entrepreneurship development every year. Jeevan Bikash received the award for the financial year 2081\/82 on the occasion of its 35th anniversary. <\/p>\n
Former Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Dipendra Bahadur Chhetri and Chairman of Swalamban Development Center Shanker Man Shrestha handed over the award to Shyam Chandra Khatiwada, Board Member of Jeevan Bikash and Chief Executive Officer of the organization Sanjay Kumar Mandal. <\/p>\n
Jeevan Bikas Laghubitta has been providing financial services to the poor families of rural areas for the last three decades. It has also been providing skill training to its members and facilitating the marketing of their products. <\/p>\n
The Independent Development Centre presented the award in recognition of the contribution made by the organization to uplift the social and economic status of the women members by making them financially independent. The evaluation committee recognized the role played by the development of life in creating employment opportunities by promoting entrepreneurship and reducing poverty. <\/p>\n
Jeevan Bikash has been providing services in 31 districts of Koshi, Madhesh and Bagmati provinces and has made more than 20,000 women members entrepreneurs. <\/p>\n
Chief Executive Officer of Jeeban Bikas Micro Finance Bittiya Sanstha Sanjay Kumar Mandal said that the organization has been working for the goal of building a poverty-free Nepal by prioritizing entrepreneurship. Addressing the function after receiving the award, he said that a separate department has been opened for entrepreneurship development. <\/p>\n
He said that the organization has taken the construction of eco-village as a campaign to advance sustainable development and environmental protection simultaneously. Families in rural settlements who have started eco-villages are involved in production. According to him, Jeevan Vikas has been running an incubation center to connect children with entrepreneurship. <\/p>\n
It is also conducting entrepreneurship development training for youths. The organization, which has been conducting skill development training regularly to enhance the capacity of its members, said that the organization has been providing free accident insurance to the entrepreneur members and the spouses of the members to share their experience and understand the new technology. <\/p>\n
On the occasion, Swalamban Development Centre has awarded three women members with the Best Micro Entrepreneur Member Award. Member of Nawapratibha Savings and Credit Cooperative, Nawalparasi, Lila Kumari Tharu of Madhyabindu Municipality-5, member of Sahara Nepal Savings and Credit Cooperative, Sharmila Thebe of Haldibari Rural Municipality-2, Jhapa, member of Unique Nepal Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha, Sunita Tharu of Barbardiya Municipality-6 were awarded with the Best Micro Entrepreneur Award.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
