Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Insurance Authority of Nepal (NIA) has given an additional seven days to publish a ‘transparency dashboard’ aimed at increasing accountability and transparency in insurance companies. <\/p>\n
Earlier, the period of 60 days was extended after most of the insurers did not publish the ‘Transparency Dashboard’ on their official website. <\/p>\n
The Authority directs the insurer to mandatorily install a transparency dashboard on TAG_OPEN_a_15 the website \u2013 Insurance Khabar{<\/a><\/p>\n
The Insurance Authority’s Research and Statistics Section on May 28 had directed the government to operate a transparency dashboard with data on insurance policy services, insurance claims, customer grievance redressal, branch network numbers, among others, with a deadline of 60 days. The authority has extended the deadline after the market-leading insurer failed to publish the ‘transparency dashboard’ within this deadline. <\/p>\n

NEA, through a letter, has directed the insurance company to bring the dashboard into operation within seven days and inform the authority about it through email. <\/p>\n
The 60-day deadline given by the authority for the first time had expired on July 29. After the completion of this period, some insurers have published insufficient data on the transparency dashboard. Some have posted a notice on the web link that opens the dashboard that a transparency dashboard is being prepared. <\/p>\n
