Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has called on doctors working at Narayani Hospital in Birgunj to return to work from Thursday. <\/p>\n
The strike was called off after a 5-point agreement was reached between the agitating doctors and the government. The union had announced an indefinite strike on Wednesday for health services except emergency. <\/p>\n
During a meeting held at the Ministry of Health and Food Security on Wednesday in the presence of Minister for Health and Food Security, Nisha Mehta, the officials of the ministry, the representatives of the Ministry of Law and Home Affairs and representatives of the associations expressed their commitment to take legal action against those involved in assaulting doctors and attacking health institutions. <\/p>\n
The District Police Office, Parsa, has arrested three persons, including the ward chairperson, on the charge of assaulting a doctor in Birgunj. Meanwhile, the police headquarters on Wednesday recalled Superintendent of Police (SP) Sudip Raj Pathak and deputed Superintendent of Police (SP) Pawan Kumar Bhattarai at the District Police Range, Kathmandu. <\/p>\n
