China is in the final stages of building an artificial sun on Earth. <\/p>\n<p>China has successfully built and tested the world&#8217;s largest superconducting fusion magnet to produce clean and unlimited energy through nuclear fusion. The achievement marks an important milestone in China&#8217;s ambitious plan to generate electricity from fusion power by 2030. With this, China has joined the ranks of leading countries in the pursuit of the largest source of carbon-free energy. <\/p>\n<p>This superconducting magnet was developed by the Institute of Plasma Physics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is a huge D-shaped structure 21 meters long and 12 meters wide. The massive structure weighs 582 tons. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>What is an artificial sun? <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Artificial or artificial sun is a nuclear fusion reactor. Which repeats the process of generating huge energy in the sun. It fuses hydrogen atoms at temperatures of more than 100 million degrees Celsius. This process releases a large amount of energy without producing carbon dioxide. Scientists believe that this technology will prove to be a source of unlimited energy in the future. <\/p>\n<p>In addition to the giant magnet, Chinese researchers have also successfully tested a high-temperature superconducting central solenoid. This is called the heart of a fusion reactor. It works like a spark plug in a car engine. In a fusion reactor, this component helps to start and maintain the plasma needed for the reaction. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>The World&#8217;s Largest Superconducting Magnet<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to the researchers, it is the world&#8217;s largest superconducting fusion reactor magnet to date. Its volume is 1.3 times larger than that of a similar magnet built for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER). It is also three times as large as the energy it can store. This keeps the plasma inside the reactor and prevents it from touching the walls. This plasma is a gas heated to 100 million degrees Celsius. China says that this technology has been developed entirely using domestic materials and production capacity.
