Kathmandu. Netrajyoti Agriculture Cooperatives Limited (NEA) has its 14th establishment day and its annual general meeting of Sindhupalchowk district. <\/p>\n
Chaitarasangachowkgadhi municipality mayor Krishna Prasad Sapkota inaugurated the general assembly by planting a sapling of banyan tree and ward chair Uddhav Nepal. The cooperatives inaugurated the programme by planting saplings of banyan and peepal trees spreading the message of environment conservation on the occasion of the establishment day. <\/p>\n
Chautara Sangachowkgadhi Municipality Mayor Krishna Prasad Sapkota was the chief guest and Ward No 14 Chairman Uddhav Nepal was the special guest of the program \u0964 <\/p>\n
Addressing the program, Chief Guest Krishna Prasad Sapkota said that cooperatives are an important basis for local economic prosperity. According to him, the cooperatives have been making remarkable contribution to increase agricultural production, create employment and strengthen rural economy. <\/p>\n
He said that the park was constructed with statues of national artist late Lal Bahadur Khati and Pandit Bidyapati Sapkota. He also stressed on the need for cooperatives to play more effective role in production, productivity and market management. <\/p>\n
Similarly, Bhupendra Thing, chairman of the District Bar Unit, said that the cooperatives should move ahead by embracing the rule of law, transparency and accountability. Janak Giri, district president of Nepal National Forest Users’ Federation, said that agriculture and environment complemented each other and afforestation carried out on the occasion of the establishment day has given a positive message. <\/p>\n
Chairman of Janamilan Savings and Credit Cooperative, Sher Bahadur Shrestha expressed the belief that the collaboration between cooperatives would help expand economic activities at the local level. Likewise, Chairman of the People’s Milk Production Cooperatives, Badri Prasad Nepal pointed out the need for the state to adopt a special policy to encourage cooperatives focused on productive sector. <\/p>\n
In the AGM, the office-bearers of the organization presented the annual progress report, income\/expenditure statement and proposed programs and plans for the coming fiscal year. The present report was discussed in detail among the members. The participants responded positively to the performance of the organization and suggested to pay attention to more skill training, marketing of products and capacity building of its members. <\/p>\n
Established in 2069 B.S., Netrajyoti Agriculture Cooperative has been working to promote self-sufficiency in agricultural production, increase the income level of its members and strengthen the cooperative movement. The organization has been conducting agricultural technology transfer, awareness raising programs and community activities from time to time. <\/p>\n
On the occasion, the participants praised the tree plantation done on the occasion of the establishment day, linking it with environmental protection and responsibility towards the future generation.
