Kathmandu. In the context of Nepal’s recent implementation of the National Artificial Intelligence Policy and a significant step towards digital transformation with the establishment of a National AI Center, the World Forum for Ethics in Business organized a special event titled “TAG_OPEN_strong_23 AI for Humanity: Navigating the Great Societal Challenges of TAG_CLOSE_strong_23 the AI Age” at The Soaltee Hotel in Kathmandu. <\/p>\n
The chief speaker of the program and President of WFEB {{TAG_OPEN_strong_22 TAG_CLOSE_strong_22}}, Dr. Sanjay Pradhan highlighted the immense potential that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is creating for Nepal and the challenges that have emerged along with it. “AI can play a critical role in accelerating national development, strengthening good governance, and empowering youth,” he said, stressing on the development and use of responsible and ethical AI that protects human dignity, democratic values, and human autonomy. <\/p>\n
Sharing his international experience in the field of good governance, institutional transformation and ethical leadership, Dr. He said that ethics and innovation are complementary aspects of each other rather than competing with each other. According to him, only those nations that embrace ethical leadership along with technological excellence will be successful in the long run in the AI era. <\/p>\n
Dr. He proposed that Nepal could be one of the first countries to host the National AI for Humanity Forum after the Global Summit of TAG_OPEN_strong_21 WFEB{{{TAG_CLOSE_strong_21} to be held in November 2026. He said that such forum will be important to build the future of inclusive, responsible and ethical AI by bringing the government, private sector, educational institutions, civil society and youth on a single platform. <\/p>\n
Reiterating his commitment to Nepal, he said, “The future of AI is, ultimately, a story of humanity. Whether AI becomes the greatest opportunity or greatest risk for mankind will not be determined by the technology, but by the wisdom, values, and leadership with which we guide it. \u201d<\/p>\n
Coordinator of AI for Humanity under WFEB{{TAG_OPEN_strong_20{TAG_CLOSE_strong_20}} and Corporate Programs Director of Art of Living Nepal, Neeva Mathema Pradhan gave the welcome speech. At the end of the program, he gave a vote of thanks. <\/p>\n
