Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has decided to tighten the operation of bank accounts. The national ID number has been made mandatory for all new and old people by mid-October. <\/p>\n
Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a unified directive to banks and financial institutions (BFIs) to restrict the operation of bank accounts. Now, the banks and financial institutions have to self-declare whether the details of the national identity card of the account holder are available through mobile application or other appropriate means by mid-October 2083. <\/p>\n
The banks and financial institutions have to obtain the national identity card or update the national identity card number of the concerned account holder by the end of October 2083 in the case of the Nepali citizen who has obtained the national identity card. In case of Nepali citizens who have not been able to obtain the national identity card, arrangements have been made to inform the concerned account holder every 6 months to update the customer identity by obtaining the national identity card. <\/p>\n
In case of citizens who cannot take care of themselves, people with disabilities, and children below 16 years of age, they will be allowed to open bank accounts and carry out transactions by accompanying any documents other than the national identity card or national identity card number.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
