Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Lawmakers have registered several amendment proposals on the appointment, tenure and work experience of the governor, deputy governor and director of the Nepal Rastra Bank. Lawmakers have registered an amendment proposal on the bill designed to amend the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058 registered in the House of Representatives. <\/p>\n
According to Section 18 (1) of the main Act, the office of Governor, Deputy Governor and Director is for five years. Presenting the amendment, lawmaker Sushil Khadka has proposed that the term of the governor, deputy governor and director should be 4 years instead. <\/p>\n
Similarly, another lawmaker Parshuram Tamang has registered an amendment proposal in clause (c) of the Clause 20 of the main act. <\/p>\n
Clause (c) deals with the qualifications and work experience of the governor, deputy governor and director. The bill proposes that a person should have at least a Master’s degree in economics, monetary, banking, financial, data or accounting, administration, commerce, management, commerce law from a recognized university and at least 10 years of experience in the executive level post of the Government of Nepal, executive director of a bank, university professor or executive level post of an international financial institution. g. <\/p>\n
Presenting an amendment to the bill, lawmaker Tamang has proposed to remove the term ‘commercial law’ and increase the work experience from 10 years to seven years. <\/p>\n
Kamal Subedi has registered the amendment proposal to the bill stating that the person should have at least 15 years of high-level study, research or work experience in the concerned field and should have high moral character.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
