Earlier, Trump’s executive order had said that children living in the US illegally or temporarily will not be eligible for US citizenship. This decision of the court is considered a relief for foreign citizens living in the United States. <\/p>\n
Trump’s signature birthright on the first day of his second term is part of his administration’s tougher policy on immigration. The birthright citizenship case was the first of Trump’s immigration policies to go to court for a final decision. <\/p>\n
Earlier, the justices struck down Trump’s global tariffs under the Emergency Powers Act. A law that has never been used in this way before. <\/p>\n
In January 2025, the first day of his second term, Trump signed an executive order denying citizenship to the children of foreign nationals born in the United States illegally or temporarily immigrant. Now, according to the Supreme Court’s decision, the children of foreign citizens born in the United States will be citizens. <\/p>\n
