Kathmandu. Current fiscal year 2082. Insurance companies have paid claims of about Rs 93 billion in the 11 months of ’83 months (July-May). <\/p>\n
According to the Insurance Reflection Released by the Nepal Insurance Authority, insurance companies have paid a total of Rs 92.97 billion in claims till mid-June of the current fiscal year. In the same period of the previous year, insurance companies had paid claims of Rs 72.94 billion. The insurance claim payment has increased by 27.37 percent compared to the previous year. <\/p>\n
Life insurance companies have paid Rs 66.41 billion till mid-June of the current fiscal year. This payment is 2,65,204 claims. <\/p>\n
In the same period of the previous year, life insurers had paid Rs 52.64 billion for 2,38,608 claims. During the review period, the number of claim payments of life insurers decreased by 11.15 percent and the amount decreased by 26.17 percent compared to the previous year. <\/p>\n
Similarly, till mid-June of the current fiscal year, non-life insurers have paid Rs 26.56 billion for 140,351 claims. In the same period of the previous year, the non-life insurers had paid Rs 20.30 billion for 127,282 claims. <\/p>\n
The number of claims and amount of non-life insurers increased by 10.27 percent and 30.84 percent respectively in the review period compared to the previous year. <\/p>\n
The claim payment amount of non-life insurers has increased due to the huge loss caused by the Jenji agitation in August and the floods and landslides of September. <\/p>\n
According to the data till mid-June of the current fiscal year, life and non-life insurers are yet to pay claims worth Rs 49.44 billion. Out of this, life insurers have collected Rs 5.54 billion for claims of 60,954 claims and non-life insurers have collected Rs 43.89 billion for claims of Rs 117,182.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
