At least 1,300 people have died in Europe due to heatwave. <\/p>\n<p>According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the number of deaths due to the unprecedented heat wave in Europe is increasing. High temperatures have been recorded across Europe. <\/p>\n<p>Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic also set new records. This intense heat wave continues to surge towards Eastern Europe. <\/p>\n<p>In an Instagram post, WHO chief Tedros Ghebreyesus said there had been at least 1,300 deaths linked to extreme temperatures in Europe since June 21. \u2019<\/p>\n<p>The physical stress associated with heat is often referred to as the &#8216;silent killer&#8217;. European homes, offices and schools were not prepared for such temperatures. Europe is the fastest-warming continent on Earth, with temperatures rising twice as much as the global average, Tedros warned. \u2019<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday morning, the French Health Ministry announced that the country had reported nearly 1,000 more deaths than expected since Wednesday.
