British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced a ban on social media for children under the age of 16. <\/p>\n<p>According to Prime Minister Starmer, the ban will come into effect early next year in 2027. &#8220;A total ban is the right option. &#8220;We are not ready to compromise on the safety and happiness of children,&#8221; he said, adding that &#8220;we hope that the rules will be passed before Christmas and that the ban will come into force early next year.&#8221; \u2019<\/p>\n<p>In a separate statement after Starmer&#8217;s speech, the government said the restrictions included Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and X.
