Acting Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Dirgha Kumar Shrestha has said that he was positive on the issue of allowing the private sector to participate in electricity trade and construction of transmission lines. <\/p>\n<p>Shrestha said this while delivering a congratulatory speech at the 26th general meeting and 8th convention of IPPAN. &#8220;The contribution of the private sector in production is very commendable. &#8220;I am clear that the private sector should be allowed to enter into power trading and transmission line construction,&#8221; he said, adding, &#8220;I have been telling the minister that the private sector should also be allowed to enter.&#8221; \u2019<\/p>\n<p>Shrestha also said that the role of the private sector would be important in achieving the government&#8217;s target of exporting 15,000 MW. Stating that the private sector, which has been moving ahead for the development of energy, has been entangled in various issues related to forest, he urged the Energy Minister to take initiative to resolve the forest problems and encourage them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
