Kathmandu. Finance Minister Dr Swarnim Wagle has urged the industrialists and businessmen of the private sector not to run after the rumour that the government is cracking down. <\/p>\n
Finance Minister Wagle made this request at a program organized in Kathmandu on Friday evening. “The government has not made any list of arrests and arrests of private sector entrepreneurs. Don’t be behind the rumors, you are our partners. \u2019<\/p>\n
Finance Minister Wagle also said that the private sector is a partner in the government’s plan to make a $100 billion economy. He also outlined the government’s five priorities. <\/p>\n
According to Wagle, the first priority of the government is good governance. “The second priority is economic revival and the third is internal and external connectivity in the countries,” he said, adding, “The fourth priority is social investment and the fifth is the expansion of soft power through tourism, culture and history.” \u2019<\/p>\n
Stating that the country was in the mood to turn the ship of economy, Finance Minister Wagle urged the industrialists and entrepreneurs to wait for the same until the next budget. Citing the example of the strides made by neighbouring country India in political stability and moving ahead the country in an honest manner, he said some indicators of Nepal’s economy at present and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s time when he assumed the helm of power were similar. <\/p>\n
