Kathmandu. A team led by NADA President Surendra Kumar Upreti held a meeting with Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gauri Kumari Yadav and discussed the issue of pasting stickers with maximum price list on automobile items. <\/p>\n
During the discussion, Chairman Upreti said that such an arrangement would not only make the production and import business more systematic, clean and transparent but would also increase the revenue received by the government as well as encourage the entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs who are officially operating the business. <\/p>\n
During the discussion, Chairman Upreti said that many four-wheelers and two-wheelers are being manufactured in Nepal under CKD model and tires, lubricants and batteries are also being manufactured in Nepal. <\/p>\n
Discussing with the NADA delegation, the Minister said that the suggestions given by NADA are acceptable and assured that the practical aspects of the NADA will be resolved by postponing it for some time as per the situation and will move forward by resolving the immediate problems until further decision is made on how to move forward. <\/p>\n
In the discussion, there is a practical problem as to how to implement this provision in the case of hundreds of automobile spare parts that come in a single box by the automobile businessmen of Nepal, and in the absence of a bonded warehouse in the customs, the provision of pasting stickers with the maximum price list inside the customs yard is also not practical. Honorable Minister Gauri Kumari Yadav gave this assurance to Chairperson Upreti’s statement that there is a need to give to the government. <\/p>\n
During the discussion, NADA Vice-President Abhik Jyoti said that it was the first time that NADA had suggested to the government regarding MRP and sticker. Similarly, NADA Secretary Megh Raj Poudel talked about the practical difficulties seen in pasting stickers with maximum price list. <\/p>\n
The press release issued by the Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection on 2082\/12\/2002 had stated that all the goods imported from abroad and sold in Nepal should compulsorily mention the maximum retail price and issue invoice while selling the goods.
