Kathmandu. The Department of Immigration (DoI) has said serious attention has been drawn to the fact that immigration officials have written unauthorized conditions on the passports of Nepali citizens en route to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). <\/p>\n
The department’s clarification came after pictures of passengers going to the UAE with the phrase “Employment is strictly prohibited” were circulated on social media and various media over the past few days. <\/p>\n
The Department has clarified that no decision has been taken to allow the departure of any Nepali citizen on the basis of conditions contrary to the prevailing laws and departmental policy. Issuing a press release today, Department Spokesperson Tikaram Dhakal stated that an internal investigation process has been initiated against the employees involved in such illegal activities based on personal inquiries. <\/p>\n
According to the decision of the Government of Nepal on Kartik 13, 2082, the process of going abroad on visit visa has been made hassle-free. Now, Nepalese citizens can get a departure permit with ‘self-declaration’ if they have the following documents: <\/p>\n
1. A passport valid for at least 6 months. <\/p>\n
2. Air tickets to the destination country. <\/p>\n
3. Visa of the concerned country. <\/p>\n
The Department has stated that it was modernizing immigration system to control fraud and exploitation at various levels in view of the compulsion of the citizens. <\/p>\n
