Kathmandu. The Election Commission (EC) has decided to resume the collection and updation of voters’ list from April 5. A meeting of the EC held on March 3 decided to resume the process which had been postponed for the election to the House of Representatives since November 2, 2082. <\/p>\n
According to the EC, it has now been made easier to register your name in the voters’ list. Nepalis who have already obtained the national identity card number can register their name in the voters’ list through the online system on the basis of the same details. Citizens who do not have national identity card can submit their photo and fingerprint biometrics through the EC’s ‘pre-enrollment’ system to submit their photo and fingerprint biometric. <\/p>\n
An application can be made online for correction of name, surname and address in the voters’ list, removal of duplicate names, updating the details of those who have died or migrated and for changing the polling place online. <\/p>\n
Out of the total 18.2 million voters, 61 percent cast their votes in the election held on March 4. Only 5 percent of the votes cast were invalid. <\/p>\n
The EC has urged the eligible Nepali citizens to register and update their enrollment on time to ensure their franchise.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
