The opposition parties put forth their views in today&#8217;s meeting of the House of Representatives convened for the first time after the March 4 elections. Bhishma Raj Angdembe of Nepali Congress, Ram Bahadur Thapa of CPN-UML, Barsha Man Pun of Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Harka Sampang of Labour Culture Party and Gyanendra Shahi of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) presented their views in the House of Representatives. <\/p>\n<p>NC lawmaker Angdembe demanded that the report of the former Justice Gauri Bahadur Karki Commission be made public. He questioned the silence of the EC on the issue of the burning of the Parliament building and Singha Durbar during the agitation on September 7 and 24. Angdemba also suggested the government to take steps in a prudent manner. He made it clear that the NC was always determined not to escape the guilty and not to be implicated. <\/p>\n<p>CPN-UML lawmaker and parliamentary party leader Thapa blamed the Nepal Army, bureaucracy, Sushila Sarkar and Barbara Foundation as the main reasons for the RSP becoming the number one party. He, however, congratulated the RSP government. <\/p>\n<p>Likewise, NCP lawmaker Pun pledged to work with the government to make the aspirations of the country and people stronger. He also expressed the view that the NCP would support the government in the good works carried out by the government keeping the country and people at the centre. <\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Chairman of the Labour and Culture Party and lawmaker Sampang demanded the cancellation of the MCC assistance project. He also called for scrapping the unequal anti-national trade treaty (MCC) which was launched with the objective of military strategy to safeguard the country&#8217;s independence and non-aligned foreign policy. <\/p>\n<p>Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Shahi said that the RPP would help the government to garner two-thirds majority at the time of need. &#8220;We are ready to support if the government wants to scrap the provinces and amend the constitution with constitutional monarchy,&#8221; he said. <\/p>\n<p>Shahi said that the constitutional monarchy and Hindu state should be reinstated for the country&#8217;s sovereignty, national unity and historical continuity.
