Kathmandu. A one-day seminar on ‘Reimagining the spaces we design and live in’ was held at Nepal Engineering College in Bhaktapur on Sunday. Organized by the students of the 2021 batch of the Department of Architecture, the program presented nine research papers based on contemporary social, cultural, environmental and psychological issues. <\/p>\n
Dr. Jharana Joshi, who participated as the chief guest of the seminar, praised the research initiatives of the students and pointed out the need for socially responsible design and interdisciplinary thinking. <\/p>\n
College Principal Durga Prasad Bhandari and Assistant Principal Mohan Dhoj were present on the occasion. C. Ram Prasad Suwal, chief of the department, was also present on the occasion. <\/p>\n
The one-day seminar was divided into three sessions, with a total of nine research presentations. The topics presented included the issues of invisible labour of women, digital addiction among youths, impact of urbanization in traditional ‘Nani’ open spaces, child labour in brick industry, foreign migration, Tun system of Banepa, Deuda culture, mental health problems and pollution of Hanumante River. <\/p>\n
The research also offered practical solutions by analyzing social and urban problems in depth. Panel discussions, student presentations and interactions made the educational environment more effective. <\/p>\n
According to the organizers, the seminar has contributed significantly in research-based learning, social responsibility and student leadership development.
