Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has banned the sale and distribution of petroleum products in bottles. <\/p>\n<p>The NOC on Monday sent a letter to the Petroleum Dealers Association, Dhanusha and Mahottari asking them to stop the sale of petroleum products in bottles and jerrycans. &#8220;Public complaints have been received that some shops and individuals are selling petroleum products (petrol, diesel, kerosene, etc.) in bottles and jerrycans,&#8221; the NOC said, adding that the possibility of fire and explosion increases while selling highly flammable petroleum products in bottles and jerrycans. \u2019<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the corporation has directed both the associations to stop the sale and distribution of petroleum products and inform their members and general public to purchase fuel only by visiting the authorized dealers and petrol pumps nearby. &#8220;Action will be taken as per the NOC&#8217;s bylaws and the prevailing laws of the Government of Nepal if any lapses are found during the monitoring of the corporation,&#8221; reads the letter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
