Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued a statement for the current fiscal year 2082. The Monetary Policy Review of the Year 83 has been published. <\/p>\n<p>The monetary policy unveiled by the central bank today has made significant policy changes. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>Here are the policy provisions<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The existing provisions relating to interest rate corridor, bank rate, mandatory cash reserve and statutory liquidity ratio have been retained. <\/p>\n<p>Tourism, information technology and export-oriented industries based on domestic raw materials will also be included in the scope of sectoral credit limit implemented with the objective of encouraging the expansion of credit to agriculture, energy and micro\u00f7, domestic and small enterprises. In addition, the existing provision requiring the banks and financial institutions to maintain minimum credit ratio in each such sector will be amended. <\/p>\n<p>The guidelines on current capital loans will be amended to allow banks and financial institutions to determine the duration of Permanent Working Capital on the basis of the analysis of the borrower&#8217;s cash flow and financial statements. In addition, the existing provision of requiring the borrowers to pay less than 10 percent of the arrears of working capital loan for at least seven consecutive days in a year should be reduced to less than 30 percent. <\/p>\n<p>Arrangements will be made for the banks and financial institutions to restructure and reschedule by charging a minimum of 10 percent interest on the loans issued to enterprises and businesses displaced due to Mahendra Highway and Mid-Hill Highway expansion. <\/p>\n<p>The limit of non-deliverable forward capital of banks and financial institutions will be increased from 25 percent to 30 percent. <\/p>\n<p>Foreign investment in infrastructure development such as data center, cloud computing, robotics lab and AI will be facilitated. In addition, the flow of co-financing loans from banks and financial institutions in such projects will be encouraged. <\/p>\n<p>A strategy will be adopted to further encourage e-payment transactions by reducing transactions through cheques. <\/p>\n<p>The existing provision of recovering arrears by removing the borrower from the blacklist for 6 months will be effectively implemented if the borrower who cannot repay the loan immediately due to circumstantial reasons will not be included in the blacklist and the borrower who is in the blacklist submits a good reason to repay the loan. <\/p>\n<p>The Government of Nepal recently approved the Second Financial Sector Development Strategy (2082). 83\u201386.
