This comes after US President Donald Trump imposed heavy tariffs last year. China’s move also sends a message to Trump. The message is that without America, the world can build new alliances. <\/p>\n Xi Jinping has said that the zero-tariff regime will provide new opportunities for African development. He made the announcement when African leaders gathered in Ethiopia for the annual African Union summit. <\/p>\n Expanding duty-free access will strengthen China’s economic influence in Africa.
