The new Punch EV gets subtle but significant changes. Which makes it more modern and premium than ever before.

The company is focused on keeping the design cleaner and more electric-focused. This electric SUV will be officially launched for sale soon. Bookings for the new punch have already opened on the official website.

What does the new Punch EV look like?

The Punch EV facelift now gets a closed front grille design. Which gives it a completely electronic identity. The black trim that connects the headlamps and the LED DRLs to the light bar has been removed. The scuff plate under the front bumper has also undergone a slight redesign. Which gives it a sharper look. Keeping in mind the modern trends, Tata has also focused on increasing the sharp angles in the design.

The car has newly designed aero-optimized alloy wheels. Which seems to be largely inspired by the larger Nexon EV. The Punch EV facelift will also get a new colour option. This color is similar to the Sunlight Yellow shade of the recently launched Harrier SUV. It is attached to a black roof. This combination gives the SUV a slightly sporty touch.

Tata is yet to reveal the design behind the punch EV facelift. However, it is expected to have a connected LED tail lamp setup similar to the petrol punch. The exterior changes aren’t big but the car definitely gets a fresh look.

The interior is not expected to see major changes. However, minor design updates are possible. Like the Nexon EV, it is expected to feature a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with new software. Apart from this, most of the cabins are expected to remain the same. The company may include some new features in the interior.

The powertrain will remain unchanged on the PUNCH EV facelift. It will be offered with 25kWh and 35kWh battery pack options. The 25kWh battery offers 265km of ARAI range and the 35kWh battery offers 365km. The small battery pack produces 82 hp and 114 Nm of torque. The larger battery pack produces 122 hp and 190 Nm of torque.

The PUNCH EV facelift will retain the existing features. It features a 10.25-inch digital driver display, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charger, 360-degree camera, auto-dimming inside rearview mirrors, connected car technology and ambient lighting. Safety features include multiple airbags and Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).

How much will cost?

The Punch EV facelift is expected to be priced slightly higher than the current model. Currently, the Punch EV is priced between Rs 9.99 lakh and Rs 14.44 lakh, ex-showroom. The price of the facelifted variant may increase slightly.

Kathmandu.
