In the first five months of &#8217;83, more than Rs 25 billion has been spent on employees&#8217; salaries and allowances. <\/p>\n<p>According to the data released by Nepal Rastra Bank, 20 commercial banks have spent a total of Rs 25.04 billion till mid-December of the current fiscal year. Compared to the previous year, the bank&#8217;s expenses increased by 7.45 percent. <\/p>\n<p>Similarly, Nabil Bank is the second highest consumer in salary and allowances of employees. The bank has spent a total of Rs 1.74 billion till mid-November. It had spent Rs 1.60 billion in the same period of the previous year. Compared to the previous year, the bank&#8217;s expenses increased by 9.16 percent. <\/p>\n<p>Global IME Bank is the third highest spender. In the review period, the bank spent Rs 1.54 billion on salaries and allowances from Rs 1.54 billion in the review period of the previous year. <\/p>\n<p>In terms of the increase in the salary and allowances of employees, NMB Bank has the highest growth rate of 41.63 percent. In the review period of the previous year, the bank spent Rs 92.39 crore which increased to Rs 1.30 billion. <\/p>\n<p>As of the review period, Standard Chartered Bank has spent the least amount on salary and allowances of employees. The bank has spent Rs 41.54 crore. The bank had spent Rs 45.76 crore in the same period of the previous year.
