KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Finance is committed to address the demands of the employees of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) who have been agitating for the past one and a half months. <\/p>\n<p>Ajay Dhungana, president of Sebon Employees&#8217; Union, said that the joint secretaries at the Ministry of Finance have expressed commitment to address the demands of the employees. &#8220;In today&#8217;s meeting, the joint secretaries of the Ministry of Finance have agreed to address our demands by mid-November. All regular work will start from tomorrow. However, if our demands are not met by mid-November, we will go into pension again. \u2019<\/p>\n<p>Employees of Sebon have been protesting for about one and a half months over the reduction of facilities by the Ministry of Finance. The employees have been protesting since the Ministry of Finance wrote a letter to the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) on September 2. The employees of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) have demanded that the revenue secretary-level decision to scrap the working procedure issued by the Board of Directors of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) should be revoked immediately. <\/p>\n<p>According to Dhungana, the agreement was reached during a meeting with Joint Secretaries Uttar Kumar Khatri and Mahesh Acharya at the Ministry of Finance today. &#8220;We also held discussions with Finance Minister Rameshwor Khanal yesterday and he is positive about addressing our demands,&#8221; he said, adding, &#8220;Therefore, the work of Sebon will be regular from tomorrow.&#8221; However, if our demands are not met within the stipulated time, we will have no option but to resort to agitation again. \u2019<\/p>\n<p>Chairman Santosh Narayan Shrestha said that the agitation employees have not been able to take much initiative on the issue. &#8220;It seems that the ministry is preparing to initiate the process to take action against him,&#8221; he said. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
