IndiGo flight 6E-1703 from Kolkata, India with around 180 passengers on board, landed in Guangzhou of China on Monday. With this, direct flights between India and China have resumed after almost 5 years. <\/p>\n<p>Direct flights between the two countries were suspended in early 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The same year, after violent clashes between Indian and Chinese troops in Ladakh&#8217;s Galwan Valley, flights were not resumed. <\/p>\n<p>However, relations between the two countries are gradually improving. Last year, the two sides signed a historic agreement on border patrol. <\/p>\n<p>In August this year, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited China after a gap of 7 years and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also visited India in the same month. <\/p>\n<p>The Indian government said the resumption of flights would enhance people-to-people contacts and help &#8220;gradually normalise bilateral relations&#8221;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
