President Ram Chandra Poudel on Wednesday issued an ordinance to amend the Voters&#8217; List Act-2073 BS on the recommendation of the government, paving the way for the Election Commission to collect the names of new voters. <\/p>\n<p>According to the law issued earlier, the voters&#8217; list could not be collected for the election to the House of Representatives scheduled for March 4, 2002. According to Clause 4 (2) of the Voters&#8217; List Act, 2073, the name cannot be registered in the voters&#8217; list for the purpose of the same election after the announcement of the election date. Earlier, the EC had collected the voters&#8217; list before the 2079 BS elections. <\/p>\n<p>The Election Commission (EC) had written to the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday, demanding to pave the way for the collection of voters&#8217; name list.
