Vianet has apologized to its esteemed customers for the recent internet and ViaTV service disruption. <\/p>\n<p>On September 10, at around 4:45 pm, a fire broke out during the demonstration and damaged Vianet&#8217;s main data center located on the fourth floor of the Central Business Park (the building housing Kantipur Media Group). <\/p>\n<p>Although the company has backup data centers, the sudden loss of such critical infrastructure is not enough to handle all of their customers&#8217; internet traffic, causing a nationwide outage. <\/p>\n<p>The company has already deployed a technical team. However, they could not enter the building immediately as it was unsafe. In the meantime, the internet could be partially accessed through a backup data center.
