Kathmandu. The government has declared a public holiday today on the occasion of the great festival of Islam, Eid. It has been a tradition to celebrate the great festival of Islam, ‘Eid-ul-Fitr’ with joy. On this occasion, banks, insurance companies, government offices and the stock market will remain closed today.
During Ramadan, devout Muslims fast every day from dawn to sunset.
Especially in the morning, people take a bath with the intention of Eid, become clean and pure, and go to a nearby open field or a designated open place to offer Eid prayers. Eid means happiness. Eid is celebrated with joy after fasting for a month of Ramadan and being able to keep oneself away from the things forbidden by Islam during this month and doing many pious deeds.
After offering Eid prayers, people hug each other and wish each other a happy Eid and also apologize to each other.
